Eastland, Texas
, a premier city with a rich history and a bright future. Eastland is located on Interstate 20, just over an hours drive to the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex, and has matured from an oil and gas driven agricultural and ranching community, to a bustling business and retail center for a multi-county region. We estimate Eastland's current population to be around 3,800 people.

Eastland was named for Capt. William M. Eastland, San Jacinto hero and Texas Ranger. Current area resources include oil, ranching, farming and manufacturing. Fruit, pecans, vegetables, and feed crops are also important economic drivers.

Visitors to Eastland find that Eastland has not lost its friendly atmosphere or its small-town feel. With a quality of life considered to be one of the best in the region, Eastland offers abundant parkland, a historic downtown area, hunting and fishing recreational opportunities for young and old, quality rated schools, good housing and a growing business community.

All of these elements make Eastland a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family... and a popular place to do business.

MAJOR WATER LEAK REQUIRES BOIL WATER NOTICE

07/18/2017 - The City of Eastland experienced a major leak in the water supply line from Eastland County Water Supply. This leak, about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, stopped all flow of water to the elevated storage tank. As a result the city has been without adequate pressure for several hours. City crews have been making repairs to restore water service. We anticipate service will be restored to the City by 6 p.m. today (Tuesday, July 18). Once water services are restored the City will immediately be under a Boil Water Notice. Once conditions no longer require boiling of water the public will be informed. Thank you for your patience.
Public Notice to Boil Water
July 18, 2017
Due to a break in the main water service line, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has required the CITY OF EASTLAND to notify customers of the need to boil their water prior to consumption.
To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source.
When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the City of Eastland will notify you that the water is safe for consumption. Instructions to discontinue boiling will be issued in the same manner as this notice.
If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact Ron Duncan, Eastland City Manager at 254-629-8321.
