Eastland, Texas, a premier city with a rich history and a
bright future. Eastland is located on Interstate 20, just over an hours
drive to the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex, and has matured from an oil
and gas driven agricultural and ranching community, to a bustling
business and retail center for a multi-county region. We estimate
Eastland's current population to be around 3,800 people.
Eastland was named for Capt. William M.
Eastland, San Jacinto hero and Texas Ranger.
Current area resources include oil, ranching,
farming and manufacturing. Eastland County
ranks fifth in the state in peanut production. Fruit, pecans,
vegetables, and feed crops are also important economic drivers.
Visitors to Eastland find that Eastland has
not lost its friendly atmosphere or its small-town feel. With a
quality of life considered to be one of the best in the region,
Eastland offers abundant parkland, a historic downtown area,
hunting and fishing recreational opportunities for young and
old, quality rated schools, good housing and a growing business
community.
All of these elements make Eastland a
wonderful place to live, work and raise a family... and a
popular place to do business.

Kong Project Update for March 7
03/04/2010 - Progress continues with the King Kong Project on West Valley moving towards Dixie Street with crews taking advantage of the warm weather and putting in extra hours to try to get back on schedule. Additional crews continue with tie-ins along South Seaman, North College, aka Hwy. 3101, and at the intersection of Marsh and Conner. Please remember when travelling in these ‘construction’ areas to be on the alert and watch for crew members as well as heavy equipment. Residents and businesses in the areas are also reminded water service interruptions may be necessary at times during the work. For questions or comments please contact Eastland City Hall at 629-3349.
